This pastel drawing was done in 2018 from a picture. I was interested in the texture and shape of the jelly on the plate and wanted to capture that with pastels. I also was drawn to the scene of left-over food on a plate. At first, it seems disgusting, but the colors and the composition make it a beautiful image, but makes the viewer slightly uncomfortable at the same time.
