Life at 5 O'clock
Painted in 2017
Original and prints are avaliable for sale
This painting was inspired by a house I saw in New Iberia. The way the shadows fell under the wooden planks and along the house made it an interesting scene to me. The lines are precise and simple. This piece allowed me to practice more with shadows, as well as sketching out delicate and precise scenes before painting. No blending or mixing of colors was involved, just filling in areas that I had sketched beforehand, which is a simple technique that I like to use for buildings and shadow pieces.
