I painted the under painting for this piece in 2018. I had wanted to use only pallet knives when painting with oils, but I decided to try brushes and started working on this piece again. It is my first realism piece in the oil paint medium. I wanted to capture the quiet but bold fruit, with its seeds in jewel tones, wrapped in soft, pillowy flesh.
