I decided to make this piece because I missed doing simple sketches with pencil. I have done portraits of many people throughout the years, but I always go back to doing self-portraits because it is easier to perfect because I know my own face more than other peoples'. I wanted to focus a lot on the eyes and the expression, so there is not a ton of detail and shading in the sketch.
